Over 40 Smoking Areas built with solidarity wood have been installed on the beach 8 km long.
The new areas also known as “Smoke Corners” have been placed along the beach and they have been manufactured with almost all the wood coming from the “Solidarity Chain”, an initiative promoted by PEFC Italy after the hurricane “Vaia” which destroyed thousands and thousands trees in North East Italy last October.
The equipment which have been installed inside the smoking area includes benches, tables, outdoor umbrellas, platform, fence and ashtray. The area has been designed to be used also by people with different abilities. The space could be identified by multi-language signs and flag.
The design and the production of these "smoke corners equipment" are in compliance with the requirements GPP (Green Public Prcurement) that means that they are manufactured with renewable and sustainable material. In particular, the design is based on Eco Design for an easy separation of the components and to allow a smart re-use of the products at the end of their life.
